The last couple months have been extremely busy. I play trumpet in two classical groups and in a jazz band, all of which have had numerous concerts in the last two months.   In May, I went to Washington DC to compete in the National Wind Band Festival where we won the gold award.  It was nice to tour DC and get to see all the monuments and museums.  Unfortunately I didn't make it to any table tennis clubs there on our week long trip.  We stayed at the Hilton hotel which was below par as I could only fit through the bathroom door if I turned sideways.

This Sunday on June third I will have my last concert, which is with the Diablo Wind Symphony. This will conclude my highschool music carrer.  At our school I recieved the top musician award for both classical and jazz music and won the Bud Howe music  scholarship.

Now that my band commitments are over I will be able to totally focus on US Open in July.  I have been  jump roping, running and doing lots of foot work drills. I've also been weight lifting since February at school really enjoy it.  I am much less sore after tournaments because of lifting.  In the past I have had very week wrist but since I started doing wrist curls my wrist have not had any more pains. Little weight is need but it acts as muscle therapy and conditions the smaller muscles.

The last two tournaments I've played in I was upset three times.  This may be because I didn't focus on serve return enough in practice or I rushed too much in the tournament.  I always realize after the match that I never think about blocking and just getting the ball on the table.  In practice I keep the ball in play more and block when I'm not in good position or instead just spin the ball.  But in the match I sometimes try to attack everything which causes errors if you are not on top of your game or you are nervous.  I need to relax more in the match and try to play more consistently in my first matches and play more aggresively and take risks as I feel more comfortable.
