How Did I Get Myself Into This??? PDF Print E-mail

I was watching my parents play ping pong at Stanford four years ago. What a weird sport, I had thought. I was never going to play this. But I was wrong. My friend, Felicia, told me there was a Ping Pong club in Palo Alto. She wanted me just to try it so I did. It was so fun and interesting. That’s how I started playing at the Palo Alto Table Tennis Club.

I remember that I started in a line with about fifteen kids and we each took turns playing three balls a time at the club. I waited for about five minutes and then I got to play for fifteen seconds. After four months of practice in the line, I moved from the beginner level to level 1. I wanted to play more so I started to practice with a coach. I took a private lesson half of an hour per week and then increasing to one hour per week. After one year practice at club, I moved from level 1 to level 2.

Currently I have been practicing with my coach, Stefan, about 5 to 6 hours a week. I am very fortunate because I can learn from a world class player. It has been very successful and I am improving fast.
