For the first time ever the World Junior Table Tennis Championships will be contested in the United States of America.  USA Table Tennis (USATT) and the San Francisco Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee (BASOC) are getting ready to host the event, December 9 through December 16, at Maples Pavilion on the beautiful campus of Stanford University.

BASOC was established in 1987.  In the last 20 years BASOC has helped organize and present an array of major national and international sporting contests including the 1992 World Figure Skating Championships, 1994 World Cup and 1999 Women’s World Cup.  Stanford University, located conveniently between the cities of San Francisco and San Jose, offers premier athletic facilities that have produced dozens of Olympians.

Based on recent Worlds’, USATT and BASOC expect more than 30 countries will likely be represented.  Planning is well underway to deliver a technically sound, festive experience for the players and fans alike.  For more information visit the website at www.2007wjttc.org.
