Preparing for the US Open! PDF Print E-mail

With US Open only a week away, many tend to over train while some may not be as well prepared.  Here are a few tips that help me prepare for important competitions:

1.)  Do not over practice.  You want to have a low key week the week before by keeping your muscles loose and relaxed.  At this point, you are not going to be learning anything new or improve a large amount.  You should use this time to refine your game and have a focused game plan.

2.)  Do use this time to do some physical training.  No need to over work out but do maintain a level of cardio to build up your stamina for tournament play.

3.)  Make sure you have good conditioned equipment ready to play for the tournament.  If  you bought new shoes recently, make sure you are used to the way they feel before competing in them.  No one likes to play in new shoes and get blisters on their feet.  =)

4.)  Please be aware that traveling with glue is prohibited on air planes.  Get your glue at the JOOLA Booth during the US Open!

5.)  Lastly, always remember just enjoy playing and have fun.  If you end up having a bad match, do not forget that this is only a game and you are in Vegas so let the good times fly! =)

Safe travels and hope to see everyone next week!
