What are your best titles or rankings? My best title was 2008 U.S. Nationals Under 11 Champion. My best ranking was #1 under 10 girls when I was eight. When and how did you start playing? Dad said I started playing ping-pong when I was 6 MONTHs old. He said he was babysitting me and at the same time anxious to try his newly bought ping-pong robot. So he held my hand with his racket and hit with the robot, but I really started playing and taking lessons when I was seven. Describe your playing style I don't really have a playing style yet. I'm still developing it. Who are your coaches (past or present)? Who do you practice with? My coach is Lily Yip, though I've also had lessons from Barry Dattel, Adam Hugh, Judy Hugh, Nison Aronov, Coach Deng, Coach Liu and Coach Li. I practice with my parents and friends at Westfield. What are you currently working on? I am currently working on hitting the ball on the table consistently. What are your table tennis goals – short-, intermediate- and long-term? My goal is to get into the Olympic Team and win a medal for USA. What are your interests outside table tennis? My interests outside table tennis are reading books and listening to music such as Hannah Montana and High School Musical 2. Tell us something really interesting about yourself. I started taking piano lessons when I was four years old. I didn't like playing piano too much. Whenever I didn't want to go to bed, my parents would say "Go to bed, or practice piano." Then I immediately went to bed :). Out of the 2 p's (piano and ping-pong), one is boring and one is interesting. |
