What are your best titles or rankings? 2007 Junior Olympics Under 12 Champion. In the 2007 USATT Magazine November December issue, I was ranked top 6 under 12 years old. Breaking News! Ethan won 14 and Under this past weekend at the St. Joseph Valley Open in Indiana, May 3-4. When and how did you start playing? I started playing table tennis at age 8. I started playing at a summer camp for fun and then gradually got serious and started to take private lessons. Describe your playing style. Two-winged looper and close to the table attacker. Who are your coaches? Who do you practice with? My former coach was Amanda Chai. My present coaches are Yang Shi Gang, Didi DeSouza and Xin Peng. I practice with many of Atlanta's high rated players, including Chang Jie, Preston Chin and Bobby Tan. What are you currently working on? I am currently working on footwork, my backhand loop and my serves and return of serve. What are your table tennis goals- short-, intermediate- and long-term? My short-term goal is to reach at least 2000 by the end of 2008. My intermediate goal is to make the USA Cadet and Junior Teams. My long-term goal is to qualify for the Olympics, representing the USA. What are your interests outside table tennis? My interests outside table tennis is playing and watching different kinds of sports, especially basketball. I also like Geometry and playing piano. Tell us something really interesting about yourself I memorized mostly all of the NBA players' names. I know all the top rated world-class table tennis stars.
